User Roles in Skilltype

Skilltype uses a variety of roles to route you to the resources and tools you need.

  • Affiliate- Affiliates are Members or Followers who are connected to your organization in Skilltype.
  • Members- Individuals that you have added to an organization in Skilltype, typically representing employees.
  • Followers- Followers are people who have chosen to connect to an organization on Skilltype. Followers may represent employee alumni, potential job applicants, or fans. Users who choose to Follow an organization opt in to share data about their skills, product experience and interests with that organization. Organization Administrators can toggle the organization’s Visibility to On or Off within Settings; Toggling Visibility On makes your organization discoverable, which allows Skilltype users to find and start following your organization. When Toggling Visibility Off, your members are still able to find and access your organization yet your organization is not visible for Followers to connect to.
  • Team- A Team is part of an Organization in Skilltype. Organizations who are subscribers to Skilltype for Teams are able to create teams of people with members and designated managers that mirror the departments, branches, and groups which people work in every day. After your Organization Administrator has designated you as a Team Manager or Team Member, you’ll see an email notification that your Team is waiting for you and you’ll see the names of Teams you belong to below your photo in your Profile.
  • Organization Administrator- Administrators for your organization’s Skilltype account are able to access Skilltype’s Insights and Talent Audit features, which provide a global view of an organization’s skills, product experience and interests. Administrators are able to create, modify or delete Teams for an organization, which includes assignment of Team Managers and Team members.
  • Organization Owner- An Owner is the main administrator of an organization’s Skilltype subscription and the only one who can add, edit, or delete organization information. The Owner has the ability to send invites to add members to each organization and to re-send or revoke pending invitations. Owners can create, modify or delete Teams for an organization, which includes assignment of Team Managers and Team members. Owners can access Skilltype’s Insights and Talent Audit dashboards, which provide a global view of an organization’s skills, product experience and interests.
